authentic eros

... is an invitation to enter your body, to sense, to feel, to let yourself be guided by your heart, your essential values and your true desires! To speak your truth, to communicate, to be yourself! To find and to create community!

Our intention is to facilitate a deep connection between body, mind, sex and spirit. We support you to accept yourself and to let yourself be as you are – that is what we mean when we use the term "authentic". We support you to come in contact with your needs, your passion and your resources and to proudly take your place inside the larger culture - to live from your deepest longing, to own your gifts and to share them with the world.

    Maevon Canter

Initially studying fine art, Maevon discovered in the visual language of symbols, an ‘artistic way of knowing’. He began his study of body work practices by learning to teach the Alexander technique in 1997. During a VisionQuest to the United States in 2005 which included visiting several radical faerie sanctuaries Maevon discovered that his spiritual practice was also based in movement. Moving to Berlin in 2009 Maevon began studying somatic practices with Authentic Eros  and discovered that the body also has a distinct and intense way of knowing. He has completed an Authentic Eros one year training and certified as a Sacred Intimate in the Body Electric tradition in 2017. He learnt BodyFlow massage from its creator Andy Saich and sees it as the perfect way to bring together the wisdom of touch with spirituality and sexuality.

Experience with authentic eros

  • ONE-YEAR TRAINING:
»Meeting Julian truly changed my life. I had zero expectation of meeting anyone I would find myself wanting to spend time with outside of the retreats. Our relationship developed slowly and I attribute the depth of honesty and communication that he and I have together in large part to what we learned in the group together and then were able to practice on our own. I've never felt so absolutely comfortable with anyone in my life before. I can share any feeling, fantasy or fear with him without worrying about being judged. I feel that because of the program I can fully and truly be myself with him. And I know that because I let him see who I truly am, (and vice versa) I fell in love with him. «
    — Liad // San Francisco
  • AUTHENTIC EROS WEEKEND:
»Embraces the living moment without labelling, teaching or preaching.«
    — Richard // Köln
  • ONE-YEAR TRAINING:
»I learned so much from each of the people in the group. People that I was least inclined to have told you I "liked" or thought I could learn anything from during the first day or week invariably taught me some of the most amazing things I learned during the process. I grew to love and respect every single person in our group – hearing about their challenges, life experiences, fears, joys and passions made the whole experience so much richer than it would have been otherwise. I'm pretty sure I would have lived the rest of my life without really learning it. I thought I was open and non-judgmental. It makes me laugh to think about that now as I write this.«
    — David // New York City
  • ONE-YEAR TRAINING:
»Module after module, I discovered more about my thoughts, my feelings and my body. The bodywork was a key aspect towards a deeper understanding of my sexuality, and of my self. Looking back, I feel part of a family that supports and questions, always with a loving intention for personal growth. The training is life-energizing and life-changing! My thought to whoever reads this: “When the AE train crosses your path, just jump on and enjoy the marvellous and rewarding ride!”«
    — Dirk // Brussels
  • SOUL OF SKIN:
»If you want to get an overview of the various massage techniques, the program is ideal. The thematically organized weekends provide a first - yet thorough - view into the respective style. Very competent teachers in a wonderful, caring setting. Really recommended!«
    — Michael // Berlin
  • STRETCH FESTIVAL:
»Michel Foucault once said in an interview that we must learn to understand homosexuality as something desirable. However, our sexuality often seems to be fraught with fears and insecurities, with frustration and stress. The communication explosion on the internet, rarely allows a real exchange or even the sharing of intimacy and vulnerability. STRETCH not only creates a anxiety-free, but also a stimulating and sensitive atmosphere for communication, in which you can explore things sensually, playfully or very intensely. In no bar, club or other gay hot spot is it so simple and relaxed, yet not too superficial to meet others, and to expand one's range of experiences so carefully and diversely.«
    — Heiko // Berlin
  • ONE-YEAR TRAINING:
»The course gave me the possibility to be vulnerable, take risks and have fun in a way that has not been available in everyday life. It was very challenging, very freeing and huge fun. I have been deeply touched and inspired by the way Kai and Volker have made themselves available, their skill and presence, and the way they model a truly supportive, collaborative relationship of trust and respect for each other.«
    — David // London
